KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced its honorees in addition to just over 2,200 NAIA Scholar Teams as a part of its annual NAIA National Awards Day Friday. The day recognizes the association's highest individual honors and achievements of NAIA student-athletes, administrators, and coaches. Additionally, the association announced the nine-member class of the 2022-23 NAIA Hall of Fame.
Dakota State established a new school record of 12 athletics programs being named to NAIA Scholar Teams. The previous record was 11 teams in 2021-22 academic year.
For the NAIA Scholar Team award, a team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale as defined by the institution. The team grade point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.
