Brian Kern Family Stadium on Blankley Field
Brian Kern Family Stadium is located on Blankley Field at the Beacom PREMIER Complex on the campus of Dakota State University in Madison, South Dakota:
The Beacom PREMIER Complex, which includes the stadium and Blankley Field, was designed by JLG Architects and opened to fans in August 2024. The stadium features premium locker, training, and team spaces.
The stadium's debut game was the 9th annual Ag Bowl, where the Trojans hosted their rival Tigers. The Trojans won the game, which also marked the return of the Chamber of Commerce Traveling Cup to Madison.
BRIAN KERN FAMILY STADIUM
Madison businessman Brian Kern is a long-time supporter of Dakota State University, providing scholarship and program support for student athletes, and has donated to the new athletics facility. The Brian Kern Family Stadium is an appropriate tribute to the family’s efforts, which benefit DSU student-athletes, the University, and the greater Madison area.
BLANKLEY FIELD
George Blankley served an important role in the early history of Dakota State Athletics as an instructor, coach, and athletic director who also taught students life skills necessary after graduation. He and his wife Shirley continue to impact students through an endowed scholarship. Their giving spirit will live on through future athletes who play on the new field, which previously was named Blankley Field.
