Lady T's dominate Oglala Lakota (S.D.), hit season-high in points

MADISON, S.D. – Every Dakota State (S.D.) Lady T players contributed at least four points, earned at least one rebound and an assist Monday evening in 114-27 non-conference victory over Oglala Lakota (S.D.).  The Lady T's scored 27 straight points to kick off the game and never trailed in the game, recording the team's season high single game points total.

Dakota State improved their overall record to 8-9.

The Lady T's stormed to a 27-0 lead in the first six minutes and ten seconds of the game.  DSU only just missed two shots in the scoring run, converting 11 field goals in 13 attempts (84.6 percent).

Oglala Lakota, who missed their first eight shots of the game and committed five turnovers in the first 6:10, broke their scoring drought with a basket with 13:33 left (27-2 DSU lead).

DSU extended their lead to 61-14 at halftime, the most points scored in the first-half by the Lady T's this season.  Dakota State shot a blazing 57.1 percent from the field (24-of-42) while holding the Lady Bravehearts to 6-of-25 shooting from the field (24 percent).

The Lady T's recorded their largest lead of the game at 110-23 with 2:40 remaining after Summer Bailey (SO/Watauga, S.D.) knocked down a pair of free-throws.

Dakota State outscored OLC 53-13 in the final twenty minutes of the game. 

Six Lady T players scored in double digits, led by BreeAna Olson (SO/Nunda, S.D.) with a career-high 25 points.  She was 10-for-11 from the field (2-for-3 from the 3-point line) and made all three free-throw attempts.  Kennedy Wagner (FR/Chamberlain, S.D.) and Bailey each added 14 points.  Kendra Lindblad (JR/Dawson, Minn.) scored 12 points.  Madison Walford (FR/Devils Lake, N.D.) had 10 points.

Sharee Galbraith (JR/Winner, S.D.) recorded a double-double for the second straight game, scoring 13 points and pulling down 13 rebounds.  She had six blocked shots in the game (13 total blocked shots in the last two games).

Jayda Swenson (SR/Goodwin, S.D.) chipped in nine points and collected six rebounds for Dakota State.  Erin Rabenberg (SR/Glenham, S.D.) recorded eight points.  Jordan Hansen (SO/St. Michael, Minn.) had five points.  Courtney Hulstein (JR/Fulda, Minn.) tallied four points.

Bailey grabbed nine rebounds for DSU.  Walford and Wagner each had five rebounds.

Walford dished out six assists for the Lady T's.  Hansen added five assists.  Rabenberg and Lindblad each had four assists.  DSU had a team-high 27 assists.

Olson recorded seven steals in the game for Dakota State, who recorded a season-high 25 team steals.  Hulstein recorded four steals. 

Alyssa Looks Twice led all scorers for Oglala Lakota with 18 points.  She was 8-for-18 from the field.  Tasina Helper earned 12 boards and dished out four assists.

Dakota State made a season-high 44 field goals in 85 attempts (51.8 percent) compared to OLC 12-of-49 field goal shooting (24.5 percent).  The Lady T's were 5-for-15 from the 3-point line, while the Lady Bravehearts did not made a 3-pointer in 11 attempts.

DSU was near-perfect at the free-throw line, making 21 free-throws in 22 attempts (95.5 percent).  Oglala Lakota was 3-for-5 at the free-throw line.

The Lady T's outrebounded the Lady Bravehearts 54-26.

Dakota State heads on the road Wednesday evening for a non-conference clash with Briar Cliff (Iowa), receiving votes in the latest NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Top 25 national poll.  Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. from the Newman Flanagan Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
