ELLENDALE, N.D. – Dakota State (S.D.) shot a sizzling 55.6 percent from the field Saturday afternoon, cruising to an 87-35 victory over Trinity Bible (N.D.) at Ray Ulmer Fieldhouse. The Lady T's held the Lions to 26.4 percent shooting from the field.
It was the final non-conference game of the 2014-15 season for the Lady T's as they head to conference play next week.
Dakota State improved their overall record to 9-10, earning their second victory for the week. Trinity Bible fell to 4-8 overall record.
After falling behind 4-1 to open the game, the Lady T's stormed back with a 21-2 run to grab a 22-6 lead with less than eleven minutes left in the first-half.
DSU expanded their lead to 46-17 by halftime after shooting a blazing 62.1 percent from the field (18-of-29). TBC was 7-for-26 from the field (26.9 percent) in the first twenty minutes.
Dakota State maintained their double digits lead for the rest of the game, outscoring the Lions 41-18 in the second-half. The Lady T's were 50 percent shooting from the field (17-of-34) while Trinity Bible was 7-of-27 (25.9 percent).
Four DSU players scored in double digits, led by Sharee Galbraith with a double-double. She scored 18 points (7-of-9 field goals and 4-of-6 free-throws) and grabbed 11 rebounds. Madison Walford added 13 points. Jayda Swenson and Erin Rabenberg each scored 10 points.
Jordan Hansen scored nine points off the bench for the Lady T's. BreeAna Olson added eight points. Kendra Lindblad had six points and Kennedy Wagner five points. Courtney Hulstein and Summer Bailey each had four points.
Lindblad dished out five assists for DSU. Rabenberg produced four assists.
Swenson pulled down eight rebounds for the Lady T's. Galbraith recorded five blocked shots. Walford had two blocks.
Olson stole the ball four times for Dakota State. Lindblad and Hansen each added three steals.
Kelby Risse led the Lions with 18 points (7-of-17 field goals and 4-of-6 free-throws). SaraLi Petersen added six points.
Risse earned seven boards for the Lions. Janae Droste recorded six assists and three steals.
DSU shot 35-of-63 from the field in the game compared to TBC 14-of-53. The Lady T's had 23 assists.
Dakota State outrebounded Trinity Bible 52-28. DSU outscored TBC 50-16 inside the paint.
Dakota State kicks off their North Star Athletic Association conference season Wednesday evening at DSU Fieldhouse. The Lady T's host Presentation (S.D.) with a tip-off starting at 5:30 p.m. in Madison, S.D.
