North Dakota State defeats Lady T's in DSU's exhibition game

FARGO, N.D. – NCAA Division I North Dakota State shot 48.7 percent from the field Friday evening, cruising past Dakota State (S.D.) 97-42 at Scheels Center.  It was an exhibition game for the Lady T's, where they were held to 21.1 percent shooting from the field.

DSU remained at 5-11 overall record, while NDSU improved to 7-7.  The game was featured live on Midco Sports Network and ESPN3.com.

The Bison held a 25-11 lead after the first quarter and extended their lead to 51-20 by halftime.  NDSU outscored DSU 46-22 in the final twenty minutes of the game.

Kennedy Wagner led the Lady T's with 11 points.  She was 4-of-4 from the free-throw line.  Britley Plautz added nine points (3-of-5 from the field and 3-of-4 free-throws).  Raven Patton had five points.  Lindsey Vogl scored four points.

Plautz, Wagner and Jamie Tebben each grabbed four rebounds for DSU.  Patton added four rebounds.  Cassie Jones tallied four rebounds.

Wagner dished out two assists for Dakota State.  Vogl stole the ball twice.

Four North Dakota State players scored in double digits, led by Rylee Nudell with 17 points.  Michelle Gaislerova had 16 points off the bench.  Taylor Thunstedt added 13 points.  Reilly Jacobson posted a double-double of 11 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.

Sarah Jacobson had eight points, eight assists and stole the ball four times for the Bison.  Thunstedt had five steals. 

NDSU shot 38-of-78 from the field compared to DSU 12-of-57 field goals.  The Bison were 10-of-23 from the 3-point line while DSU was 3-of-24 3-pointers.

The Lady T's went 15-of-20 from the free-throw line.  North Dakota State was 11-of-18 free-throws.

NDSU outrebounded DSU 50-41. 

Dakota State resumes back their regular-season action next weekend.  The Lady T's continue their regular-season nine-game home stand at DSU Fieldhouse, hosting a pair of North Star conference games.  DSU hosts Dickinson State (N.D.) next Friday at 5:30 p.m., followed by a contest versus No. 19-ranked Valley City State (N.D.) next Saturday at 3 p.m.
