MADISON, S.D. – Dakota State (S.D.) missed a game-tying shot at the buzzer that would force the North Star Athletic Association women's basketball contest into extra period, falling short for an upset bid to the conference leader Mayville State (N.D.) by the score of 66-64 at DSU Fieldhouse.
The Trojans fell to 6-12 overall record and 1-3 record in North Star conference games. The Comets, ranked No. 16 in the latest NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 national poll, won their sixth straight game to lift their overall record to 15-2 and remained in sole possession for first-place with a 4-0 NSAA record.
