MADISON, S.D. – Holding a slim 37-34 halftime edge Sunday evening, Mayville State (N.D.) opened the second-half with a 22-4 outburst to defeat Dakota State (S.D.) 78-68 in the North Star Athletic Association men's basketball conference game at DSU Fieldhouse.

The Trojans, despite a career-night by Anthony Costello, dropped their overall record to 5-14 and 1-3 NSAA conference record.  The red-hot Comets extended their winning streak to 10 games, raising their overall record to 14-2 and remained undefeated in North Star conference play with a 4-0 record
