MADISON, S.D. – All 13 Dakota State (S.D.) players scored in the game as they cruised to a 105-56 North Star Athletic Association women's basketball victory over Waldorf (Iowa) Friday evening at DSU Fieldhouse. The Trojans poured in 62 points in the first half to fuel their fifth straight victory.
Dakota State, ranked No. 21 in the latest NAIA Top 25 national poll, won their 20th straight North Star conference regular-season contest. The Trojans raised their overall record to 16-6 and stayed perfect in the league with a 6-0 record. Waldorf suffered their sixth straight setback, falling to 6-12 overall record and remained winless in six league games (0-6 NSAA record).
The Trojans conclude their four-game home stand Saturday evening versus Viterbo (Wis.) in the battle of NSAA undefeated teams. The game is set for 3 p.m. at DSU Fieldhouse.
WU heads to Gordon Lozier Center to wrap up the first half portion of the conference schedule against Bellevue (Neb.) with a 3 p.m. tip-off.

- Jessi Giles and Savannah Walsdorf hit back-to-back 3-pointers as the Trojans opened the game with a 6-0 lead with nine minutes, nineteen seconds on the clock. DSU never trailed for the rest of the game.
- Waldorf ended its scoring drought with a 3-pointer by Sandra Christian to cut DSU's lead to 6-3 with 8:56 on the clock.
- The Trojans went on a 7-2 scoring run to stretch their lead to 13-5 with 7:08, capped by a basket by Giles.
- Waldorf could get no closer than three points for the second time at 17-14 after a field goal by Lizzie Garza with 3:10 left in the first period.
Dakota State closed the first period with a 15-5 run, ending with a basket by Elsie Aslesen for a 32-19 lead.- DSU shot 59.1 percent in the first quarter (13-of-22 field goals) compared to WU 38.9 percent (7-of-18 field goals).
- The Trojans roared with an 11-0 outburst to kick off the second quarter, ballooning their lead to 43-19 after Walsdorf's steal followed by a lay-up with 7:05 on the clock.
- Dakota State outscored Waldorf 30-12 in the second period, racing to a 62-31 halftime lead. The Trojans shot a blazing 61 percent in the first twenty minutes (25-of-41 field goals) and held the Warriors to 38.7 percent (12-of-31 field goals).
- DSU maintained control, outscoring WU 26-12 in the third period to widen their lead to 88-43.
- A lay-up by Miakken Vincent gave the Trojans its biggest lead of the game at 105-54 with 1:01 remaining.
- Giles paced the Trojans with 20 points on her 8-of-9 field goals. She also stole the ball three times. Walsdorf added 19 points (6-of-9 field goals) and grabbed six rebounds. She registered a game-high six steals.
Aslesen tallied 14 points and recorded four blocks in the game for DSU. Shaylee DeBeer scored 12 points off the bench. - Courtney Menning scored seven points, dished out three assists, and stole the ball three times for Dakota State. Ashlyn Macdonald added seven points and three assists off the bench.
- Lexi Robson contributed five assists for DSU. Vincent recorded three blocks.
- Christian led the Warriors with 12 points. Tina Lair-VanMeter added 10 points and collected nine rebounds off the bench. Garza had nine points and five rebounds.
- Dakota State shot 37-of-69 field goals (53.6 percent) compared to Waldorf 22-of-58 field goals (37.9 percent). The Trojans hit 10-of-25 3-pointers, while the Warriors were 7-of-22 3-pointers.
- DSU converted 21-of-25 free-throws (84 percent). WU was 5-of-11 from the free-throw line (45.5 percent).
- The Trojans outrebounded the Warriors 38-33 in the game.
- Dakota State outscored Waldorf 25-0 in fast-break points, 42-6 in points off turnovers, 50-24 inside the paint, and 39-20 in bench points.
