DALLAS, Texas – Dakota State (S.D.) used a six-run second inning Saturday afternoon to complete their week-long baseball road trip undefeated with a 15-2 victory over host-school Dallas Christian (Texas.). The Trojans completed their four-game set at DCC Baseball Field with a 4-0 record.
Dakota State raised their overall record to 12-5, extending their winning streak to six games. Dallas Christian fell to 6-15 overall record.
The Trojans are scheduled to play a home nine-inning contest on Wednesday versus Briar Cliff (Iowa) at Flynn Field. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. in Madison, S.D.

- After a scoreless first inning, the Trojans exploded for six runs in the top second frame. Mason Macaluso led off with a walk. Jace Pribyl was hit by pitch and advanced Macaluso to second base. Chris Burke recorded a bunt single to set up a bases loaded situation for DSU.
- Walker Hultgren recorded an RBI sacrifice fly to score Macaluso to earn a 1-0 DSU lead in the top second. Jackson O'Neal followed up with an RBI single to score Pribyl to make it 2-0 in favor of the Trojans.
- Seth Altwine smashed a 3-run home run to balloon the Trojans' lead to 5-0 in the top second.
- Ryan McDaniel reached on base by a walk. Bennett Osborn, courtesy runner for McDaniel, advanced to second base on a wild pitch committed by DCC. Another wild pitch by the Chargers allowed Osborn to advance to third base.
- Dakota State made it 6-0 after Kameron Bryant hit an RBI single to score Osborn in the top second frame.
- Manny Valenzuela drilled an RBI triple in the bottom third as DCC scored its first run of the game (DSU led 6-1).
- Chris Burke hit a double with one out in the top fifth inning for Dakota State. Hultgren followed up with an RBI single to score Burke as DSU extended their lead to 7-1.
- The Trojans added two more runs to widen their lead to 9-1 in the top fifth, a run committed by DCC's defensive error and an RBI single from Noah Angstadt.
- DSU used another six-run sixth inning to widen their lead to 15-1, thanks to O'Neal's RBI single, back-to-back RBI walks by Altwine and McDaniel, and 3-RBI double by Angstad.
- The Chargers scored once in the bottom sixth inning to cut DSU's lead to 15-2.
- Dakota State outhit Dallas Christian 13-6 in the game.
- Angstadt was 2-of-5 at the plate with a double, single, and drove in four runs for DSU. Bryant added a double, single and an RBI. Burke had three singles and scored three times.
- Hultgren and O'Neal each tallied two hits and two RBIs for the Trojans. Hultgren swiped one base. Altwine had a home run and collected four RBIs. McDanile had two walks and an RBI.
- Valenzuela led the Chargers with a triple, double, and an RBI. Brandon Andrews, Stefon Reyes, Marcos Franjul, and Gustavio Silverio each added a hit.
- Mitsuki Shimonishi (W, 2-0) earned the victory on the pitching mound after tossing 5 2/3 innings. He allowed two runs (one unearned) on five hits. He recorded seven strikeouts. Cole Westerlund pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief, yielding one hit. He struck out three DCC's batters.
- Casey Morrow (L, 1-2) recorded the setback after working for 4 1/3 innings for Dallas Christian. He gave up eight runs (one unearned) on eight hits. The Chargers used three pitchers in relief for a total of 2 2/3 innings.
