Local standouts to join Dakota State football squad in 2024-25

Wolf, Sather, and Kjetland signed national LOI to join Dakota State next fall

November 29, 2023

MADISON, S.D. – Josh Anderson, Dakota State University football head coach, is excited to announce three local standouts that will join the squad for the upcoming 2024-25 season.  Jovi Wolf, Sam Sather, and Brandon Kjetland had signed the national letter-of-intent to join Dakota State and football program.

Wolf is a three-sport standout for Chester Area High School, where he had received numerous athletic honors.  He was recently listed on the Argus Leader 'Elite 45' honorable mention team.  He also received the Class 9A All-State wide receiver honor this fall.

Wolf captured numerous individual and relay track titles at the state track & field meet in the past few years.  He was a member of the Flyers' South Dakota Class 'B' State Boys Track & Field team title in 2022.

Jovi's older sister Josie Wolf is an alum at Dakota State, where she received North Star Athletic Association All-Conference honor 18 times for the Trojan women's track and field team (she was also named the conference's Outdoor Track Athlete-of-the-Meet in her final collegiate track meet at DSU in 2022).

Sather will transfer to Dakota State from the NCAA Division II Northern State (S.D.).  His father is the head men's basketball head coach at NCAA Division I North Dakota (former coach at NSU as well).  He was a four-year offensive lineman starter for Red River High School and formerly Aberdeen Roncalli High School.

Brandon Kjetland, a senior from Canistota High School, will join the Trojan football team next year.  He will unite with his older brother Tyler (currently a sophomore offensive lineman for the Trojans, where he received All-Conference Second Team this fall).

Brandon was named to the Class 9A All-State defensive lineman recently.
