Last Two Matches Recap; Trojans make history
  • Dakota State played their first ever conference match in school history on Oct. 4.  The Trojans traveled to Bellevue (Neb.) and dropped the Continental Athletic Conference match with the Bruins.
  • DSU made history on Oct. 8 as they netted their first ever win in women's soccer history.  Dakota State cruised past Waldorf (Iowa) of the Great Plains Athletic Conference by the score of 4-1, thanks to their 2-0 halftime lead.
  • Dakota State outshot Waldorf 28-2, including 14-2 on shots on goal.  Clarissa Knoll, Nichole Corona, Katie Brown, and Madison Smalley each recorded a goal for the Trojans.  Charli Zimmerman, Brown, and Corona each had an assist.
  • Onika Kline became the first Trojan to earn a conference player-of-the-week honor in program history.  She was named to CAC Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week Monday.  She played all ninety (90) minutes as a center back and limited the Warriors' attack as DSU picked their first ever victory.
  • Kline attempted two shots in the match for Dakota State.  She also was instrumental in building the team's offense attack from the back line and caused multiple problems for the opposition by exploiting space by dribbling and distributing the ball.
