DSU women’s soccer continues action on road at Bellevue (Neb.) and Waldorf (Iowa)

Trojans continue road stretch as they kick off the month of October

MADISON, S.D. – The Dakota State University Trojan women's soccer team (0-11-1 overall record, 0-0 CAC) continues their road stretch, visiting Bellevue (Neb.) (8-2-1 overall record, 1-0 CAC) Saturday afternoon.  The Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) match is set for 3 p.m. at Renner Dennis Outdoor Athletic Complex (2102 Harvell Circle) in Bellevue, Neb.

Continental Athletic Conference is the NAIA's independent conference with teams across the nation.  Both Bellevue and Dakota State are members of the CAC conference in women's soccer.

Dakota State travels to Waldorf (Iowa) (1-6-1 overall record) of the Great Plains Athletic Conference Wednesday evening.  The match is set for 5 p.m. at Bolstorff Field (John K Hanson Drive) in Forest City, Iowa.
 

Missouri Recap
  • Dakota State faced a pair of America Midwest Conference foes in the state of Missouri last week.
  • The Trojans fell to (RV) Columbia (Mo.) on Sept. 25.
  • DSU's attempt for their first win of the season fell short to Stephens (Mo.) on Sept. 27, despite leading 2-0 in the early second half after being deadlocked at 0-0 by halftime.
  • Nichole Corona and Ryelynn Hammer each had a goal for Dakota State.  Onika Kline recorded an assist on DSU's first goal of the game.

Match-by-Match Preview
1. at Bellevue (Neb.) – Saturday, Oct. 4
  • Opponent context: Bellevue is currently on a three-match winning streak, recording their sixth win in the last seven matches.  The Bruins earned a 6-2 victory over Warner (Fla.) on Sept. 25 and earned a 7-1 victory over Florida National in the CAC conference action on Sep. 27.  BU then shut down Briar Cliff (Iowa) 6-0 on the road on Oct. 1.  Bellevue suffered its only setback of the season to Oklahoma City on Sept. 20.
2. at Waldorf (Iowa) – Wednesday, Oct. 8
  • Opponent context: Waldorf dropped their fourth straight match after a 7-0 shutout by Dordt (Iowa) on Oct. 1.  The Warriors continue their Great Plains Athletic Conference on Saturday versus Hastings (Neb.) before hosting Dakota State on Wednesday.  Waldorf earned their only win of the season at Eureka (Ill.) on Aug. 31.  WU is 0-4 record in the Great Plains Athletic Conference games.
