HELENA, Mont. – The Frontier Conference announced their 2025 volleyball season-ending awards Wednesday evening at the Lower Campus Center on the campus of host-school Carroll (Mont.). The conference announced their Academic All-Conference, Champions of Character, All-Conference teams, and postseason awards on the eve of the three-day conference tournament at Carroll's PE Center.
The awards were selected by the league's head coaches.
Dakota State landed five recipients on the All-Conference teams, highlighted by senior
Maddi Langerock (setter) on the First Team All-Conference. She ranks second in the league in assists per set (10.45 assists per set).
Sophomores
Sophie Tuttle (outside hitter) and
Tristyn Maras (right side) along with junior
Macey Wathen (middle hitter) were selected to the Second Team All-Conference.
Tuttle leads the Frontier Conference in kills per set (3.36 kills per set) and total kills (333) for DSU. Maras also ranks fifth in the conference with 3.1 kills per set and fourth in total kills with 311 kills.
Wathen leads the team with .329 hitting percentage, which is the third best overall hitting percentage in the Frontier Conference.
Junior
Kate VanRooyan (libero/defensive specialist) was named to the Frontier All-Conference Honorable Mention team. She ranks fifth in the league with 5.15 digs per set and 520 total digs.
The Frontier Conference Champions of Character recipient for Dakota State was
Keira Murdock. More information will come on Monday on the conference website.
Fourteen (14) recipients were listed on both First- and Second-Team All-Conference teams. Each school has an honorable mention athlete.
The academic All-Conference awards were also handed out.
Gabi Borresen, Langerock, Maras, Tuttle,
Kate VanRooyan,
Reagan VanRooyan, and
Ashley Wangler received the academic award for the Trojans.
The Frontier Conference postseason tournament gets underway Thursday afternoon. Dakota State, the No. 4 seed in the tournament, faces No. 5 seed Montana Tech in the quarterfinal round at 3:30 p.m. (Central Time)/2:30 p.m. (Mountain Time).
