BROOKINGS, S.D. – The Dakota State University Trojan women's indoor track & field athletes continued their action on the second day of the South Dakota State D2/NAIA Open Saturday afternoon at Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex. The Trojans produced more personal records in the indoor track & field meet, featuring schools from NCAA Division I, II, and NAIA levels.
Gabriella Peitzmeier improved her personal record weight throw mark of 15.71 meters (51 feet, 6.5 inches) to finish sixth in the field. Her mark is the fourth farthest in the DSU women's indoor track & field school record.
Bella Maxwell added 14.61 meters (47 feet, 11.25 inches), while
Kiana Mounga posted her personal record 14.49 meters (47 feet, 6.5 inches).
Other DSU weight throwers results include
Lilly Young – 13.08 meters (42 feet, 11 inches), Rebecaa Hazlett – 12.78 meters – 41 feet, 11.25 inches, and
McKenna McIlravy with a personal best 11.63 meters (38 feet, 2 inches).
Maxwell led the Trojans in the shot put, tossing 11.08 meters (36 feet, 4.25 inches). Younga added 9.53 meters toss (31 feet, 3.25 inches).
RayLee Wallis clocked a time of 59.78 seconds to place sixth in the 400-meter dash.
Shakiera Gronenthal finished the race in 1:08.46.
Kierra Miller clocked a career best time of 5 minutes, 24.07 seconds in the 1-mile run for DSU.
Brooke Beaucaire added a personal best time of 5:30.64 in the race.
Lindsey Roth finished the race in 5:39.75, followed by
Madelyn Sylva in 5:48.47, and
Saddie Palmquist with a career best 5:50.11.
Presli White registered a time of 1 minute, 46.16 seconds in the 600-meter run. Anna Schnieder finished with a time of 2 minutes, 28.36 seconds in the 800-meter run.
Alyssa Koffler posted a season best time of 11.21 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles prelims for the Trojans.
Bridget Bartling clocked a personal record time of 8.32 seconds in the 60-meter dash prelims, followed by
Averie Marshall in 8.37 seconds.
DSU finished the day with four runners in the 200-meter dash, led by Marshall with a time of 28.67 seconds. Bartling added a season-best time of 28.91 seconds, followed by Gronenthal with a season-best time of 30.20 seconds. Koffler finished the race in 30.53 seconds.
Dakota State prepares for their final regular-season indoor track & field meets, with two different meets scheduled. The Trojans take partial members to the Mount Marty (S.D.) Last Chance meet Friday, while most of the members will head to Lincoln, Neb., for the two-day Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational hosted by NCAA Division I University of Nebraska.
