LINCOLN, Neb. – Amelie Steins of Dakota State (S.D.) competed on the first day of the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational, an NCAA Division I indoor track & field meet hosted by the University of Nebraska.  Numerous NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA schools competed in the two-day indoor track & field meet at Devaney Center Indoor Track.

Steins posted a time of 9.30 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles prelims, finishing 14^th overall for the Trojans.

She leaped 4.86 meters (15 feet, 11.5 inches) on her first attempt in the long jump.  She followed up with 4.75 meters (15 feet, 7 inches) on the second attempt and improved to 5.02 meters (16 feet, 5.75 inches) on her attempt.  Steins did not advance to the final round as she finished 11^th overall.

Dakota State continues their action on the second day of the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational Saturday.
