April 16, 2025

AUSTIN, Texas – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced Wednesday the 2024-25 Academic All-America® women's basketball teams for NCAA Division I-II-III and NAIA, headlined by Dakota State's (S.D.) Tabor Teel.

The NAIA Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NAIA national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 NAIA Academic All-America® program.

Four of the 11 members of the Academic All-America® NAIA women's basketball teams maintain an impeccable 4.0 grade point average (GPA) in their undergraduate work or graduate school. The five members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.92, with the entire NAIA team carrying a collective average GPA of 3.92.

Teel, 5-foot-11 junior forward from Colton, S.D., was named to 2024-25 NAIA Women's Basketball All-America Second Team last month.  She was voted as the league's Most Valuable Player, NSAA All-Conference First Team, and NSAA All-Defense Team.

She led the Trojans with 13.8 points (415 total points), and 8.2 rebounds per game (247 total rebounds—seventh most single season rebounds in the DSU school record book) in 2024-25.  She was 153-of-253 from the field (47.1 percent) and 85-of-120 from the free-throw line.  Teel led the team with 34 blocked shots (1.1 blocks per game).

Teel is listed 10th all-time in blocks with 107 blocks in the DSU women's basketball school record book.  She is also eighth in career field goals with 51.3 percent (302-of-589 field goals).

She added the fifth most points scored in a single game, pouring in 35 points in DSU's home contest versus Mayville State (N.D.) on Feb. 14, 2025, at DSU Fieldhouse.

Teel added academic accolades with the NAIA and North Star Scholar Athletes for her academic accomplishments in the classroom.

Tabor is a business major at Dakota State University.

Dakota State finished another impressive 2024-25 season with an overall record of 25-5 and claimed their fifth consecutive North Star regular season title with 14-1 record.  The Trojans also advanced to the NAIA National Tournament for the fifth straight season.
