DES MOINES, Iowa – Dakota State (S.D.) kicked off the first day of the 115
th annual Drake Relays Thursday afternoon with the women's 4 x 800-meter relay team at Bulldog Stadium. All collegiate levels from NCAA Division I through NAIA competed in the prestigious outdoor track & field meet in the nation.

Kierra Miller,
Saddie Palmquist, and
Lindsey Roth ran in the 4 x 800-meter relay for the Trojans. Schneider kicked off the first leg with a time of 2 minutes, 21.35 seconds and handed the baton to Miller where she registered a time of 2 minutes, 29.62.
Palmquist ran on the third leg with a time of 2 minutes, 32.81 seconds and handed the baton to Roth for the final leg. She clocked 800-meters time of 2 minutes, 24.28.
DSU finished the race with a time of 9 minutes, 48.05 seconds. The time is the second fastest in the Trojan women's outdoor track 4 x 800-meter relay history, surpassing the previous second fastest by Katherine Fisk, Summer Stulken, Marie Parker, and Amy Hansen with a time of 9:48.44 in 1997.
Dakota State continues their action on the second day of the Drake Relays Friday morning. The Trojans will run in the 4 x 100-meter relay prelims at 9:23 a.m., 4 x 400-meter relay prelims at 3:08 p.m., sprint medley relay at 6:20 p.m., and conclude with the 4 x 200-meter relay at 7:36 p.m.
Palmquist will be running in the 800-meter run Friday afternoon at 1:55 p.m. in the Kip Janvrin Open, hosted by NCAA Division III Simpson (Iowa) in Indianola, Iowa.
