MANKATO, Minn. – Dakota State (S.D.) returned to Mark Schuch Track Complex for the third time this season Wednesday afternoon in the NCAA Division II outdoor track & field meet, the Maverick Open #1 hosted by Minnesota State-Mankato. The Trojans finished fifth as a team with 53 points, featuring all NCAA schools in the field. DSU had established marks in the school's Top 10 record book.
Brooke Beauciare broke her personal record time in the 5000-meter run, clocking a time of 18 minutes, 36.86 seconds. She finished second in the race and posted the fourth fastest time in the DSU's 5000-meters school history.
Casey Olson earned a runner up honor in the javelin throw for Dakota State. She posted a mark of 39.71 meters (130 feet, 3 inches).
Rebecca Hazlett added a fifth-place finish with 35.39 meters (116 feet, 1 inch).
Amelie Steins recorded a throw of 26.50 meters (86 feet, 11 inches).
Alyssa Koffler recorded a time of 18.18 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles. Olson finished the race in 18.22 seconds.
Gabriella Peitzmeier led the Trojans with a fifth-place finish in the hammer throw. She threw 50.55 meters (165 feet, 10 inches). Hazlett posted a career best 43.11 meters (141 feet, 5 inches).
Lilly Young registered a mark of 35.58 meters (126 feet, 7 inches), while
McKenna McIlravy produced a personal record 34.93 meters (114 feet, 7 inches).
Peitzmeier threw 38.84 meters (127 feet, 5 inches) in the discus for DSU. Young added 35.97 meters (118 feet) toss and McIlravy with a personal record 30.58 meters mark (100 feet, 4 inches).
RayLee Wallis led Dakota State with a sixth-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.78 seconds.
Molli Thornton added a season best time of 59.91 meters for a seventh-place finish. Steins followed up with a personal record of 1:00.64 to place eighth,
Caitlin Dyer with a personal record of 1:02.09 to place ninth, and
Bethany Lawson with a season best time of 1:04.93.
Thornton posted a career best time of 25.56 seconds for a 10
th place finish in the 200-meter dash. Her time is the fifth fastest in the DSU women's outdoor 200-meter dash history. Wallis added a time of 25.87 seconds in the race.
Averie Marshall registered a personal record time of 26.76 seconds, followed by Lawson in 27.22 seconds,
Bridget Bartling in 27.82 seconds, and Koffler with a personal record time of 29.23 seconds.
Thorton added a personal record 5.39 meters (17 feet, 8.25 inches) in the long jump. Her long jump mark puts her third best in the school record book.
Ella Carstensen leaped 10.47 meters (34 feet, 4.25 inches) in the triple jump.
Bartling clocked a time of 13.25 seconds in the 100-meter dash for the Trojans.
Saddie Palmquist earned a personal record time of 2 minutes, 30.55 seconds in the 800-meter run for DSU.
Kierra Miller placed seventh in the 1500-meter run after producing a career best time of 4 minutes, 58.56 seconds. Her time is the 10
th fastest 1500-meters in Dakota State women's outdoor track & field school record book. Dyer clocked a time of 5 minutes, 17.22 seconds, followed by
Valerija Curikova in 5:27.65.
Madelyn Sylva finished the race in 5:29.94.
Dakota State concludes their regular season outdoor track & field meet on Friday and Saturday. The Trojans head to Vermillion, S.D., for the NCAA Division I meet, the University of South Dakota Tune up. The outdoor track & field meet takes place at Lillibridge Track Complex on the campus of USD.
