VERMILLION, S.D. – Dakota State (S.D.) women's team kicked off the first day of the NCAA Division I outdoor track & field meet, the University of South Dakota Tune Up, on Friday evening with a runner-up honor and a mark in the school record book. The two-day outdoor track & field meet was held at Lillibridge Track & Field Complex, featuring numerous NCAA Division I (Summit League schools) and II schools.
Anna Schneider posted a season best 2 minutes, 22.84 seconds to finish second in the 800-meter run for the Trojans. She finished ninth in the race.
Kierra Miller produced a personal record time of 11 minutes, 56.54 seconds in the 3000-meter steeplechase, placing fourth. Her time is the fourth fastest time in the DSU women's 3000-meter steeplechase history. Brooke Beauciare followed up with a time of 12:15.63 to place fifth.
Madelyn Sylva earned a season best time of 20 minutes, 6.63 seconds to ninth in the 5000-meter run for the Trojans.
Valerija Curikova followed up with a 10
th-place finish in 20:13.83.
Lindsey Roth clocked a time of 4 minutes, 59.86 seconds in the 1500-meter run for DSU.
Alyssa Koffler registered a career best 1:18.35 in the 400-meter hurdles.
Bella Maxwell threw 12.71 meters (41 feet, 8.5 inches) to finish eighth in the shot put for the Trojans. Alivia Bicket recorded 11.41 meters toss (37 feet, 5.25 inches).
Lilly Young posted a mark of 34.78 meters (114 feet, 1 inch) in the discus for DSU.
McKenna McIlravy added 30.32 meters throw (99 feet, 5 inches).
Dakota State concludes their regular season schedule Saturday on the second day of the USD Tune Up. The first events are scheduled to start at 9 a.m.
