MADISON, S.D. – Dakota State (S.D.) announced their 2025-26 men's basketball Monday. First-year head coach
Kevin Williamson and his squad will be playing a total of 14 home basketball games at DSU Fieldhouse. The Trojans will be entering a new era in the 12-team Frontier Conference.
Dakota State plays four non-conference games to kick off the 2025-26 season. The Trojans will be holding their alumni scrimmage on Oct. 26 before playing their regular-season opener versus Oak Hills (Minn.) on Oct. 30. DSU is slated to play their first road contest at NCAA Division III Wisconsin-River Falls on Nov. 1 before returning home on Nov. 4 versus Trinity Bible (N.D.).
The Trojans face Dordt (Iowa) in their annual contest held at the Sanford Sports Complex at the Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D., on Nov. 11.
DSU officially kick off their 22-game Frontier Conference schedule on Nov. 15 on the road at their traveling partner, Bellevue (Neb.).
The Trojans follow with a season-high five-game homestand at DSU Fieldhouse, starting on Nov. 21 versus Providence (Mont.) and Nov. 22 versus Montana Western.
DSU returns to action after Thanksgiving break as the annual 'Battle of the Blues' with rival Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) on Dec. 2, the final non-conference regular season contest for the Trojans. Dakota State wraps up their five-game home stand versus Mayville State (N.D.) on Dec. 5 and Valley City State (N.D.) on Dec. 6.
The Trojans play the final two Frontier Conference of the 2025 year at MSU-Northern on Dec. 12 and at Providence on Dec. 13.
Dakota State kicks off the new year 2026 with 15 conference games remaining on their Frontier basketball schedule. The Trojans head to Carroll (Mont.) on Jan. 2 and Rocky Mountain (Mont.) on Jan. 3. DSU stays on the road at Bismarck State (N.D.), a new member to the NAIA in 2025-26, on Jan. 9 and at Dickinson State (N.D.) on Jan. 10.
The Trojans host Montana Tech on Jan. 16, Montana Western on Jan. 17, and conclude their three-game home stand versus Bellevue on Jan. 24.
DSU returns to North Dakota for a pair of league contests at Valley City State on Jan. 30 and at Mayville State on Jan. 31.
Dakota State begins their February slate at home versus Rocky Mountain on Feb. 6 and Carroll on Feb. 7. The Trojans play their final regular-season road contests at Montana Western on Feb. 13 and Montana Tech on Feb. 14.
DSU hosts Dickinson State on Feb. 20 and Bismarck State on Feb. 21 to close out their regular-season schedule.
The top eight teams in the Frontier Conference standings will play in the postseason tournament on Feb. 27 through March 2. The conference postseason tournament, in conjunction with the women's basketball conference tournament, takes place at Butte Civic Center (located in Butte, Mont.).
The Frontier Conference will have two automatic bids – regular-season champion and tournament champion – to the NAIA Men's Basketball National Championship. The NAIA's first and second rounds are slated for March 13-14, 2026, at campus sites selected by the NAIA national office.
The winners after the second round will move on to the final site at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo., on March 19-24, 2026.
