MADISON, S.D. – A season-high six-game home stand at DSU Fieldhouse highlighted the 2025-26 Dakota State (S.D.) women's basketball schedule, which was announced Tuesday. The Trojans make their debut in the Frontier Conference, where each conference member is scheduled to play 22 conference games with 11 games at home and 11 games on the road.
The Trojans are coming off from their 25-5 overall record last season, closing the North Star Athletic Association era with their fifth straight conference regular season title. DSU also captured the NSAA postseason tournament title and advanced to the Round of 32 of the NAIA national tournament.
After playing a scrimmage at NCAA Division II Sioux Falls (S.D.) on Oct. 23, ninth-year head coach David Moe and his squad officially opens their season at home on Oct. 27 (Monday) during an afternoon contest versus NCAA Division III Minnesota-Morris with a 12:30 p.m. tip-off.
The Trojans travel to Salina, Kan., to play in the two-day Kansas Wesleyan Coyote Classic against a pair of Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference. DSU faces the host team KWU on Halloween (Oct. 31) and Bethel (Kan.) on Nov. 1.
Dakota State takes on Dordt (Iowa) in the annual contest at the Sanford Sports Complex (Pentagon) on Nov. 11. The Trojans then open their conference schedule against their traveling partner Bellevue (Neb.) on Nov. 15.
DSU begins their season-high six-game home stand versus Providence (Mont.) on Nov. 21 and MSU-Northern on Nov. 22. The Trojans step aside their conference play on Nov. 22 versus Northwestern (Iowa).
The annual 'Battle of the Blues' with rival Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) returns to DSU Fieldhouse on Dec. 2, the final non-conference contest of the season for the Trojans.
Dakota State plays their remaining schedule with 20 conference games, continuing their home stand on Dec. 5 and 6 versus Mayville State (N.D.) and Valley City State (N.D.), respectively.
The Trojans begin their six-game stretch away from the DSU Fieldhouse in the Frontier Conference play, wrapping up the 2025 portion of the season at MSU-Northern on Dec. 12 and Providence on Dec. 13.
Dakota State begins their 2026 year at Carroll (Mont.) on Jan. 2 and Rocky Mountain (Mont.) on Jan. 3. The Trojans conclude their road trip at newcomer NAIA and Frontier Conference member Bismarck State (N.D.) on Jan. 9 and Dickinson State (N.D.) on Jan. 10.
DSU comes back home on Jan. 16 versus Montana Tech and on Jan. 17 versus Montana Western. The Trojans remain home on Jan. 24 versus Bellevue.
Dakota State continues their Frontier Conference play by alternating between weekend contests on the road and at home. The Trojans visit VCSU on Jan. 30 and MSU on Jan. 31 before returning home versus RMC on Feb. 6 and CC on Feb. 7.
DSU travels to Montana Western on Feb. 13 and Montana Tech on Feb. 14. The Trojans close out their regular season schedule at home versus Dickinson State on Feb. 20 and Bismarck State on Feb. 21.
The top eight teams in the Frontier Conference standings will play in the postseason tournament to be held at Butte Civic Center in Butte, Mont. The quarterfinals take place on Feb. 27 or 28, followed by the semifinal contests on March 1 and the championship game on March 2.
