MADISON, S.D. – Dakota State (S.D.) swept the third edition of the 2025 Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Cross Country Runners-of-the-Week honors, announced by the conference office Tuesday.
Evan Armstrong and
Brooke Beaucaire became the first Trojans this season to receive conference weekly honors.
Armstrong, a junior from Aurora, Colo., was named as the Men's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week for DSU. He led the Trojans to a fifth-place finish individually at Sunflower Open, hosted by No. 18 ranked Dordt (Iowa). He was one of the DSU runners that placed in the Top 10.
Armstrong clocked a time of 26 minutes, 32 seconds in the 8K racecourse, featuring a total of 81 runners. He helped Dakota State to a runner-up finish in the team standings behind host-team Dordt.
Beaucaire, a senior from Beaumont, Calif., was selected as the Women's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week. She placed fifth in the 5K racecourse, helping (RV) Trojans to a team runner up behind host team No. 9 ranked Dordt (Iowa) at the Sunflower Open.
She clocked a time of 19 minutes, 7 seconds in the race, featuring a total of 73 runners.
This is Armstrong and Beaucaire first career conference runner-of-the-week honors in the Frontier Conference.
Dakota State's cross-country squads return to action on Saturday, Oct. 4. The Trojans run in the Briar Cliff (Iowa) Open at Adams Homestead and Nature Preserve in North Sioux City, S.D. First race is set for 10 a.m.
