KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Dakota State University Trojan volleyball team extended their streak to 11 consecutive appearances on the NAIA Women's Volleyball Coaches' Top 25 national poll; the second edition of the 2025 national poll was announced Wednesday.
The Trojans were ranked No. 24 in the previous national poll on Sept. 3 and dropped two spots in this week's edition. DSU was one spot shy of being ranked inside the NAIA's Top 25 national poll, collecting 50 points at No. 26 in the receiving votes section.
Dakota State is 7-3 overall record and 3-2 record in the Frontier Conference contests, including a victory over (RV) Carroll (Mont.) in three straight sets on Sept. 12.
The Trojans were one of the six Frontier Conference teams to be listed on the NAIA's Top 25 national poll, with three teams ranked inside the Top 25 and three teams listed in the receiving votes section. Providence (Mont.) is at No. 4, followed by Bellevue (Neb.) at No. 5, and Montana Tech at No. 19. Carroll (Mont.) and Dickinson State (N.D.) also received votes for the national poll.
Dakota State leads the NAIA in kills per set with 15.0 kills per set. The Trojans are also fifth in the nation with 13.4 assists per set.
DSU concludes their four-match home stand this weekend at DSU Fieldhouse as they continue their Frontier Conference action. The Trojans host Montana Western Friday evening at 5:30 p.m. (Jersey Night) and nationally ranked Montana Tech Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. (Hawaiian Day).
