MADISON, S.D. – Two Dakota State (S.D.) athletes were selected by the Frontier Conference as the 2025-26 Women's Volleyball Players-of-the-Week, sponsored by Erck Hotels.  The sixth installment of the weekly honors were announced Monday afternoon.

DSU, receiving votes in the latest NAIA Women's Volleyball Coaches' Top 25 national poll, wrapped up their four-match Frontier Conference home stand with a pair of 3-set sweeps over Montana Western on Sept. 19 and No. 19 ranked Montana Tech on Sept. 20.  All four matches during the home stand resulted in 3-set sweeps over Montana schools (Carroll on Sept. 12 and Rocky Mountain on Sept. 13).

Macey Wathen was selected as the Attacker of the Week, while Maddi Langerock was chosen as the Setter of the Week.

M. Wathen, a junior middle hitter, posted double digits kills and committed just one attack error in guiding the Trojans to a pair of 3-set sweeps.  She smashed 12 kills in 17 swings for a .706 hitting percentage in victory over Montana Western.  She followed up with 11 kills and .455 hitting percentage in sweeping the 19th ranked Orediggers.

For the week, M. Wathen averaged 3.8 kills per set and produced an astounding .564 hitting percentage.  She added two blocks for the week.  She ranks fourth in the Frontier Conference in hitting percentage with .347.

Macey, a native of Rapid City, S.D. is a marketing major at Dakota State University.

Langerock, a senior setter, fueled DSU's offense attack with 76 total set assists.  She opened last weekend with 34 set assists (11.3 assists per set) and four digs in victory over UMW.  She added a double-double of 42 set assists (14.0 assists per set) and 14 digs (4.7 digs per set) in Trojans' win over MT.

Langerock averaged 12.7 assists and 3.0 digs per set for Dakota State.  She is currently ranked No. 2 in the NAIA assists per set, which also leads the Frontier Conference.  She added five kills and a service ace.

Maddi, a native of Balaton, Minn., is a marketing major at DSU.

Dakota State (9-3 overall record, 5-2 Frontier Conference record) heads to Montana for a pair of matches.  The Trojans make their first stop at MSU-Northern in Havre, Mont., Friday evening at 8 p.m. (Central Time)/7 p.m. (Mountain Time).  DSU then visits the conference's leader No. 4 ranked Providence (Mont.) on Saturday at 3 p.m. (CT)/2 p.m. (MT).
