DSU women’s soccer travels to Missouri for two matches

Trojans seeking for first women's soccer victory this season as they head to Columbia, Mo.

MADISON, S.D. – The Dakota State University Trojan women's soccer team (0-9-1 overall record) continues their action on road as they travel to the state of Missouri for a pair of matches against members of the America Midwest Conference.

DSU visits to Columbia (Mo.) (2-4-1 overall record, receiving votes in the NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 national poll) Thursday afternoon.  Kick-off is set for 4:30 p.m. at R. Marvin Owens Field (1001 Rogers Street #11) in Columbia, Mo.

The Trojans remain in Columbia Saturday afternoon as they take another opponent from the AMC conference, Stephens (Mo.) (1-7-1 overall record).  The match is set for 12 p.m. at Battle High School (7575 E St. Charles Road) in Columbia.

Trojans kicked off eight-match road stretch
  • Dakota State kicked off their remaining 2025 schedule with eight straight matches on the road, falling to rival Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) on Sept. 16. 
  • The Trojans also dropped a contest to NCAA Division II Black Hills State (S.D.) on Sept. 18.
  • After playing a pair of matches in Columbia, Mo., DSU plays their only conference match of the season as they visit Bellevue (Neb.) on Oct. 4.  Both teams are members of the Continental Athletic Conference.
  • Dakota State plays four road matches during the month of October.  The road matches include Bellevue on Oct. 4, Waldorf (Iowa) on Oct. 8, Buena Vista (Iowa) on Oct. 14, and wrapping up their regular season schedule at Dordt (Iowa) on Oct. 22.

1. at (RV) Columbia (Mo.) – Thursday, Sept. 25 (Away)
  • Opponent context: The Cougars are coming off from their two-match winning streak over NAIA's Top 25/RV teams before entering Thursday's match.  Columbia defeated (RV) Mid-America Christian (Okla.) 2-0 on the road on Sept. 15, followed by a 1-0 home victory over No. 6 ranked John Brown (Ark.) on Sept. 20.  CC is 1-2 record at home this season, with setbacks to Grace (Ind.) and Bethel (Tenn.).
2. at Stephens (Mo.) – Saturday, Sept. 27 (Away)
  • Opponent context: The Stars lost in a shutout in the previous two matches on the road, falling to Southwestern Christian (Okla.) 2-0 on Sept. 18 and Science & Arts (Okla.) 13-0 on Sept. 20.  Their lone victory of the season came on Sept. 6 when they defeated NCAA Division III Blackburn (Ill.) 9-0 in Columbia.
