MADISON, S.D. – Dakota State's (S.D.) forward
Tabor Teel was selected as the 2025-26 Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Women's Basketball Defensive Player-of-the-Week for the second consecutive week, the 13
th edition of the basketball weekly honors was announced by the conference office Monday.
It was the sixth time this season that she had received the weekly honors from the league, her fifth time as the Defensive Player-of-the-Week.
Teel led the seventh-ranked Trojans to their lone victory of the week in the Frontier Conference action, defeating their traveling partner Bellevue (Neb.) 89-41 at DSU Fieldhouse Jan. 23. She posted a double-double of 18 points and pulled down 11 rebounds, with nine rebounds being as defensive rebound.
She also stole the ball four times and recorded three blocks in the game. Dakota State led the defensive effort that held Bellevue to 24.6 percent field goal shooting in the game (15-of-61 field goals) and forced the Bruins to 26 turnovers.
According to the NAIA-PrestoStats as of Monday, Teel ranks second in the Frontier Conference with 10.4 rebounds per game for DSU. She also ranks second in total blocks with 37.
Offensively, Teel leads the league in total assists with 80 assists. She also tied third in scoring points per game, averaging 15.9 points per game.
Tabor is a native of Colton, S.D. She is a senior business marketing major at Dakota State University.
Dakota State carries their 17-3 overall record, and 12-2 Frontier Conference record this weekend as they head on the road in North Dakota. The Trojans visit Valley City State (N.D.) Friday and Mayville State (N.D.) in the Frontier Conference action. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. on both days.
