SEWARD, Neb. / MANKATO, Minn. – Dakota State (S.D.) women's indoor track & field teams were at two different sites Friday. The Trojans set a pair of new school records in both sites, highlighted by
Amelie Steins' new school record pentathlon for the second time this season.
DSU kicked off their first day of the two-day Concordia (Neb.) Track & Field Classic meet at Walz Fieldhouse with a pair of pentathlon athletes. Steins produced a pentathlon's first event of the 60-meter hurdles meet record of 8.94 seconds, earning 922 points.
Casey Olson was the second fastest hurdler in the field, recording a career best time of 9.35 seconds for 838 points.
The second pentathlon event was the high jump. Steins cleared the height of 1.55 meters (5 feet, 1 inch) for 678 points, while Olson added 610 points after clearing the height of 1.49 meters (4 feet, 10.5 inches).
Olson was the top shot-put toss mark with 11.69 meters (38 feet, 4.25 inches) for 641 points for Dakota State. Steins scored 522 points after throwing 9.88 meters (32 feet, 5 inches).
The fourth event was the long jump, led by Steins as the top mark with 5.53 meters leap (18 feet, 1.75 inches) for 709 points. Olson recorded a personal record 5.29 meters mark (17 feet, 4.25 inches) for 640 points.
Steins wrapped up the pentathlon after clocking a time of 2 minutes, 47.69 seconds for 488 points, followed by Olson with a time of 2:49.66 for 467 points.
Steins captured the pentathlon title with a new school record of 3,319 points. She is currently in the NAIA's Top 10 pentathlon. Olson earned a runner-up with a new personal record of 3,196 points, where she is in the Top 15.
The top 16 declared pentathlon athletes after the final regular season meet will qualify for the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships on March 5-7 in Gainesville, Fla.
The Trojan women's distance medley relay team of
Presli White,
RayLee Wallis,
Anna Schneider, and
Lindsey Roth competed at the NCAA Division II meet, the Mark Schuck Open and Multi's on the campus of Minnesota State-Mankato at Myers Fieldhouse.
They clocked a season best time of 12 minutes, 38.46 seconds, which is a new school record, and placed third in the race. The previous school record was held in 2024 by Roth, Wallis, Schneider, and
Valerija Curikova with a time of 12:39.08.
