Three DSU women’s indoor track & field athletes record personal best Friday

Beaucaire posted sixth fastest 5000-meter run in Dakota State women's indoor Track & field school record book

YANKTON, S.D. and BROOKINGS, S.D. – Three Dakota State (S.D.) women's indoor track & field athletes produced personal records Friday in two different meets – the Mount Marty (S.D.) Last Chance meet at Ruth Donohoe Fieldhouse and NCAA Division I meet South Dakota State Indoor Classic at Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.

The Trojans took the field athletes to the Mount Marty Last Chance.  DSU highlighted the throwing events with top eight place finishers.

Bella Maxwell led DSU with a second-place finish in the shot put, tossing 13.22 meters (43 feet, 4.5 inches).  Casey Olson followed with a career best 12.45 meters (40 feet, 10.25 inches) to place third.  Hadley Hollenbeck was sixth with 11.20 meters mark (36 feet, 9 inches), followed by Alivia Bickett eighth with 10.95 meters mark (35 feet, 11.25 inches).  Emily Dvorak threw 10.03 meters (32 feet, 11 inches).

Maxwell added a fourth-place finish in the weight throw, posting a mark of 15.70 meters (51 feet, 6.25 inches).  Bickett tossed a personal record 15.18 meters (49 feet, 9.75 inches) to place sixth.  Aaliyah Bertelsen was eighth after recording 14.49 meters mark (47 feet, 6.5 inches).  Lilly Young followed with a ninth-place finish with 14.07 meters mark (46 feet, 2 inches).  Dvorak threw 11.15 meters (36 feet, 7 inches).

Olson cleared the height of 1.51 meters (4 feet, 11.5 inches) to place fourth in the high jump for Dakota State.  Alyssa Koffler also cleared the height of 1.41 meters (4 feet, 7.5 inches) to finish eighth.

Daynica Witzel leaped 4.81 meters (15 feet, 9.5 inches) to place seventh in the long jump.

Four track athletes competed on the first day of SDSU indoor meet, featuring numerous athletes from all collegiate levels from NCAA Division I to NAIA.

Brooke Beaucaire clocked a career best time of 18 minutes, 27.69 seconds in the 5000-meter run.  Her time is the sixth fastest in DSU women's indoor track & field school history.  Valerija Curikova finished the race in 18 minutes, 34.80 seconds, followed by Madelyn Sylva with a time of 19 minutes, 33.86 seconds.

Anna Schneider clocked a time of 2 minutes, 20.21 seconds in the 800-meter run for DSU.

Dakota State wraps up their indoor track & field regular season schedule Saturday on the second day of the South Dakota State Indoor Track Classic in Brookings.
