WAYNE, Neb. – Dakota State (S.D.) continued their action on the second day of the NCAA Division II Wayne State (Neb.) Wildcat Open at WSC Memorial Stadium. The Trojans produced several personal records and season best marks during the outdoor track & field meet.
Oliviyah Thornton highlighted DSU with a career best 44.66 meters (146 feet, 6 inches) to place seventh in the discus. Her mark is the fourth best in DSU women's outdoor track & field school record book. She was close on hitting NAIA B' provisional qualifying mark of 44.73 meters.
Lilly Young added a personal record of 39.47 meters (129 feet, 6 inches). Hadley Hollenback threw 34.15 meters (112 feet).
Thornton placed third in the shot put after tossing 13.21 meters (43 feet, 4.25 inches) for DSU.
Bella Maxwell tossed 11.95 meters (39 feet, 2.5 inches), followed by Hollenbeck with 11.31 meters (37 feet, 1.25 inches),
Alivia Bickett with 10.03 meters (32 feet, 11 inches), and
Emily Dvorak with 9.15 meters (30 feet, .25 inches).
Molli Thornton recorded a sixth-place finish in the long jump, leaping 5.25 meters (17 feet, 2.75 inches).
Casey Olson added 5.18 meters mark (17 feet) to finish seventh.
Daynica Witzel jumped 4.95 meters (16 feet, 3 inches).
Adow Thyab cleared the height of 1.49 meters (4 feet, 10.5 inches) to place seventh in the high jump.
Alyssa Koffler also cleared the height of 1.44 meters (4 feet, 8.75 inches).
Kierra Miller clocked a time of 5 minutes, 22.45 seconds in the 1500-meter run.
Madelyn Sylva also added a time of 5:25.34 in the race.
Taneaja John registered a time of 16.54 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles.
RayLee Wallis led the Trojans with a time of 12.52 seconds in the 100-meter dash, placing ninth overall for DSU. M. Thornton added a season's best time of 12.62 seconds to finish 12
th.
Averie Marshall posted a time of 12.68 seconds,
Bridget Bartling in 13.08 seconds, and
Bethany Lawson in 13.21 seconds
M. Thornton recorded a time of 26.01 seconds in the 200-meter dash, followed by Wallis 26.11 seconds, and
Bethany Lawson in 27.75 seconds. Koffler finished the race in 30.15 seconds.
Dakota State heads to NCAA Division I outdoor track & field meet, the University of South Dakota Early Bird. The two-day outdoor track & field meet is set for next Friday and Saturday in Vermillion.
