DES MOINES, Iowa and INDIANOLA, Iowa – Dakota State (S.D.) added another national qualifying event to their list Friday at the 116
th annual Drake Relays, producing a new school record. The Trojans also competed at the Kip Janvrin Open on the same day, highlighted with four personal record marks and a season best time.

Molli Thornton kicked off the day with a time of 49.87 seconds in the 4 x 100-meter relay.
Amelie Steins leaped 5.71 meters (18 feet, 7.5 inches) on the first attempt in the long jump for the Trojans. She was the only NAIA in the field that advanced to the finals and placed ninth overall. The long jump finals featured jumpers from Iowa Central CC, NCAA Division I Eastern Illinois, Chicago State, Kansas State, Iowa, and NCAA Division II Augustana (S.D.).
Oliviyah Thornton tossed 12.63 meters (41 feet, 5.25 inches) in the shot put for DSU.
The Trojans closed the day with the NAIA 'B' national qualifying mark in the 4 x 400-meter relay. The team members of Steins, M. Thornton,
Caitlin Dyer, and Wallis finished the race in 3 minutes, 51.75 seconds, breaking the previous school record time of 3:56.23 earlier this season.
Kip Janvrin Open
Valerija Curikova improved her 5000-meter run personal record time of 18 minutes, 3.21 seconds. Her time is the third fastest time in DSU women's outdoor track & field school history.
Madelyn Sylva added a career best time of 19 minutes, 5.89 seconds, which is ninth fastest time in school history.
Brooke Beaucaire clocked a personal best time of 11 minutes, 44.66 seconds in the 3000-meter steeplechase for the Trojans. Her time is the second fastest in women's 3000-meter steeplechase school history.
Kierra Miller also added a personal record time of 11:53.45, the fourth fastest time in school history.
Anna Schneider finished the 800-meter run with a time of 2 minutes, 24.54 seconds.
Lindsey Roth hit a season best time of 4 minutes, 53.83 seconds in the 1500-meter run. Her time is the seventh fastest time in DSU women's outdoor track & field school history.
