DICKINSON, N.D. – The Dakota State (S.D.) Trojan baseball team (19-28-1 overall record, 10-14-1 Frontier Conference record) prepares for the postseason play, kicking off the 2026 Frontier Conference Postseason Tournament Thursday morning as the No. 4 seed taking on No. 5 seed Mayville State (N.D.) (22-22 overall record, 9-15 Frontier record) at 11 a.m. (Central Time)/10 a.m. (Mountain Time). This will be their fifth straight game facing each other after playing their final regular season 4-game series last weekend at Flynn Field and Sanford Sports Complex.
All six teams will compete in the double elimination tournament format at Dakota Community Bank & Trust Ballpark (240 2
nd Street SE), hosted by Dickinson State (N.D.).Â
The tournament begins on Thursday, April 30, and runs through Sunday, May 3, with the championship game. Monday, May 4, will be designated as a rain date.
Note that seeding is based on conference wins and losses in the final regular season standings. Conference tiebreakers were applied based on all completed games.
Bellevue (Neb.), who is carrying their 32-game winning streak and ranked No. 2 in the latest NAIA Baseball Coaches' Top 25 national poll, will be the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament. The Bruins hold an overall record of 44-3 and went undefeated 24-0 record in the conference play.
Valley City State (N.D.) will be No. 2 seed with an overall record of 24-22-1 and 11-13-1 in the Frontier Conference games.
Bellevue and Valley City State will receive the first-round bye and play in Thursday's second session.
The winner of Mayville State-Dakota State will play the top-seed Bellevue on the same day at 5 p.m. (CT)/4 p.m. (MT).
The second first round game will feature No. 3 seed Dickinson State (N.D.) (24-23 overall record, 11-13 Frontier Conference record) taking on No. 6 seed Bismarck State (N.D.) (20-25 overall record, 7-17 Frontier record) at 2 p.m. (CT)/1 p.m. (MT). The winner moves on the same day, ending Thursday's session versus Valley City State at 8 p.m. (CT)/7 p.m. (MT).
The loser's out and winner's bracket games continue Friday, May 1, and Saturday, May 2. The championship game is set for Sunday, May 3, at 12 p.m. (CT)/11 a.m. (MT), with the second championship game, if necessary, at 3:30 p.m. (CT)/2:30 p.m. (MT) (if Winner of Game 7 suffers their first defeat of the tournament).
The winner will receive the Frontier Conference's automatic bid to the NAIA Baseball National Tournament Opening Round on May 11-14 at campus sites announced by the national office.
