The Trojans improved to 20-29-1 overall and stayed alive in postseason play, while Dickinson State ended its season at 25-25 overall record.

How it happened

Dakota State trailed 5-4 entering the eighth inning before Camaron Haller blasted a solo home run to left field to even the contest at 5-5. The game remained tied through the ninth before the Trojans delivered the decisive rally in extra innings.

In the 10th, Cameron DeMaria drew a leadoff walk and George Hogan followed with a double to right field. Cameron Kittridge then lined a two-run single to left, bringing home both runners for a 7-5 Dakota State lead.

Kellan Johns (W, 4-2) shut the door in the bottom half, retiring all three hitters to secure the victory.

Dakota State struck first with two runs in the third inning. Hunter Den Boer singled and later scored on Connor Raney's RBI single. Later in the frame, Haller doubled home Raney for a 2-0 advantage.

Dickinson State answered with three runs in the bottom of the third to move ahead 3-2, then added a solo homer by Jadyn Roberts in the fourth for a 4-2 cushion.

The Trojans chipped away in the sixth when DeMaria lifted a sacrifice fly to score Quintin Tietz, cutting the deficit to 4-3. Dickinson State answered in the bottom half on an RBI double by Luis Rodriguez for a 5-3 lead.

Dakota State got one back in the seventh as Raney delivered a sacrifice fly to score Aiden Barfuss, then Haller's eighth-inning homer tied the game and set up the extra-inning heroics.
