DICKINSON, N.D. – Dakota State (S.D.) maintained their lead after eight events scored on the first day of the 2026 Frontier Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The two-day conference meet is being hosted by Dickinson State (N.D.).
The Trojans lead the conference standings with 68 points, followed by Carroll (Mont.) second with 54 points. Dickinson State is third with 51 points, Bismarck State (N.D.) fourth with 46 points, and Montana Tech fifth with 35 points.
The day kicked off with
Brooke Beaucaire placing fifth in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 41 minutes, 1.03 seconds. Madeyn Sylva added an eighth-place finish with a personal record time of 41 minutes, 59.17 seconds.
Amelie Steins highlighted the Trojans with a new school record in the 100-meter hurdles, hitting a time of 14.08 seconds. She was the top place finisher in the prelims and advanced to the finals on Sunday. She broke the previous school record held by Fane Sauvakacolo in 2023 with a time of 14.65 seconds.
Casey Olson was ninth in 15.60 seconds and
Taneaja John 11
th in 16 seconds.
Steins then clocked a time of 11.94 seconds to place second in the 100-meter dash prelims for DSU. She also advanced to the finals on Sunday. Another Trojan that will run in Sunday's finals is
Molli Thornton with a time of 12.26 seconds, placing seventh in the prelims.
Averie Marshall finished with a time of 12.62 seconds and
Bridget Bartling in 12.81 seconds.

Lindsey Roth, and
Caitlin Dyer earned a runner-up finish in the 4 x 800-meter relay. They finished with a time of 9 minutes, 40.39 seconds.
The running event concluded with the 400-meter dash, led by Steins with a fourth-place finish in 59.31 seconds. M. Thornton followed up with a fifth-place finish with a season best 59.74 seconds. Dyer was seventh in 1:00.27 and

th with a time of 1:00.69.
Daynica Witzel placed fourth in the javelin, throwing 39.31 meters (128 feet, 11 inches). Olson followed up with a fifth-place finish with 39.15 meters mark (128 feet, 5 inches). Bartling was 11
th after throwing 34.98 meters (114 feet, 9 inches).
Steins fell .02 meters shy behind first place in the long jump. She finished second with 5.75 meters leap (18 feet, 10.5 inches). M. Thornton added 5.28 meters (17 feet, 4 inches), followed by Olson with 5.22 meters leap (17 feet, 1.5 inches). Witzel leaped 4.84 meters (15 feet, 10.5 inches).
Bella Maxwell hit a personal best and NAIA 'B' qualifying mark of 53.30 meters (174 feet, 10 inches) to place third in the hammer throw for Dakota State.
Oliviyah Thornton was fifth after tossing 50.88 meters (166 feet, 11 inches).
Alivia Bickett produced a personal best 46.14 meters (151 feet, 4 inches) to finish seventh.
The second day of the Frontier Conference track & field meet is set for Sunday at 10 a.m. (Mountain Time) and conclude with the 4 x 400-meter relay by approximately 5 p.m.
