MADISON, S.D. – Six Dakota State (S.D.) athletes received the inaugural Frontier Conference baseball postseason awards during their awards night on the eve of the conference tournament on April 30 in Dickinson, N.D.  Two players were named to All-Conference First Team and added a recipient each on the Second Team and Honorable Mention.  DSU also received Freshman-of-the-Year and Champions of Characters awards.

Dakota State finished their season with 20-plus wins, their sixth consecutive season with at least 20 wins.  The Trojans were one game shy of advancing to the Frontier Conference Postseason Tournament's championship game.

Connor Raney was named to the Frontier Conference First Team All-Conference outfielder position for the Trojans.  He batted .327 for the season, going 64-of-196 at the plate.  He added seven home runs, eight doubles, and two triples, producing a slugging percentage of .495.

Raney established single season school records in runs scored with 62 runs (previous record held by Walker Hultgren with 53 runs scored in 2023), tied single season with 35 walks drawn (tied with Aidan Perry this season and last season as well, along with Josh Wells in 2005), and tied single season with 33 stolen bases (Jeremy Green in 2024).  He led the conference in stolen bases.

He also tied for third most single season at-bats with 196 at-bats and ninth most single season hits with 64.  Raney is second all-time with 45 stolen bases at Dakota State.

Raney batted .341 (31-of-91 at the plate) during 25 Frontier Conference games and produced an OPS of 1.028.  He also hit five home runs, four doubles, and swiped 18 bases.

DeMaria tied for third most RBIs in the Frontier Conference with 66 RBIs, which is also a new school record (previously held by Mason Macaluso with 63 RBIs in 2022).  He is listed in the single-season school record book – tied for ninth most hits (64), tied for fifth most total bases (111), and tied for sixth most home runs (12).

DeMaria tied the all-time school record of 30 home runs with Macaluso (2020-23).  He is also fifth all-time with 124 RBIs.

He was .321 batting average (26-of-81 at the plate) during 25 Frontier Conference games.  He hit six home runs, five doubles, and drove in 29 runs during the league.  He posted a slugging percentage of .605 during the conference seasons.
