MADISON, S.D. – Dakota State University head cross country coach Alex Glover, assisted by Taylor Hauge and graduate assistant Caleb Sayler, announced the 2026 men's and women's cross-country schedule, featuring seven meets throughout the fall season, including the Frontier Conference Championships and the NAIA National Championships.

The Trojans will open the season 'under the lights at the Augustana (S.D.) Twilight on Sept. 4 in Sioux Falls. The women's 5-kilometer race is scheduled for 8:45 p.m., followed by the men's four-mile race at 9:15 p.m.  This season opening event will be in the 15^th year running, which is one of the largest races in the region attracting more than 5,000 participants, coaches, and fans annually featuring teams from NCAA Division I to high school junior varsity squads.

Dakota State heads to Sioux Center, Iowa, on Sept. 12 for the Dordt Sunflower Open. The women's 5K race begins at 10 a.m., while the men's 8K race follows at 10:40 a.m.

The Trojans make their second trip to Sioux Falls on Sept. 25 for the Augustana Invitational. The men's 8K race is set for 10:15 a.m., with the women's 6K race scheduled for 11 a.m.

Following a two-week break, DSU heads back to Sioux Center on Oct. 10 to compete in the Dordt Holiday Inn Express Classic. The women's 6K race will start at 10 a.m., followed by the men's 8K race at 10:40 a.m.

The regular season concludes on Oct. 24 at the Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic in Ashland, Neb., providing the Trojans with one final tune-up before championship competition.

Dakota State then turns its attention to postseason action, beginning with the Frontier Conference Cross Country Championships on Nov. 6 in Billings, Mont. The conference meet, hosted by Rocky Mountain (Mont.), will determine the league champions and qualifiers for the national meet.

The 2026 season culminates at the NAIA Cross Country National Championships on Nov. 20 in Vancouver, Wash.
