DeMaria earns 2026 CSC Baseball Academic All-District® Team award

DeMaria will advance to CSC national ballot for Baseball Academic All-America®

June 2, 2026

MADISON, S.D. – Senior first baseman Cameron DeMaria of Dakota State (S.D.) added another award to his list Tuesday afternoon.  The 2026 Academic All-District® Baseball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognize the nation's top student athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes baseball honorees in four divisions – NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

The criteria to the CSC Academic honor would need to have a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average (GPA), be at least a sophomore academically, and be a significant contributor (starter/important reserve) in their sport, with specific participation minimums like 90 percent of the contests.

These criteria recognize student-athletes excelling in both academics and athletes, with nominations submitted by institutional members of CSC.  First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America® will be announced on June 23.

DeMaria is one of the recipients that will be advanced to the national ballot for the Trojans.

He was named to the Frontier Conference First Team All-Conference infielder spot last May.

DeMaria broke the single season school records of 66 runs batted in (RBIs), previously held by Mason Macaluso with 63 RBIs in 2022.  DeMaria also tied a career record home runs record with Macaluso, each with 30 home runs during their career at Dakota State.

DeMaria's single season school records in 2026 included tied for fifth total bases with 111, tied for sixth with 12 home runs, and tied for ninth with 64 hits.  He also tied for second most single home runs with 14 in 2025, as well as fifth all-time in career RBIs with 124.

DeMaria led DSU with .374 batting average (64-of-171 at the plate) and .649 slugging percentage in 2026.  He recorded 12 home runs, 11 doubles, scored 41 times, recorded 30 walks, and was hit-by-pitch 20 times.

DeMaria also earned NAIA and conference scholar-athletes awards during his career at DSU.

Cameron is a graduate business management student from Fresno, Calif.
