Dakota State (S.D.) (0-2-0 overall record) seeks for first wins of the women's soccer season as they play three matches during the week, including two NCAA Division II Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference foes. The Trojans stay on the road Sunday evening at Sioux Falls (S.D.) (0-1-0 overall record). The match is set for 5 p.m. at Bob Young Field in Sioux Falls. DSU ends their road trip Wednesday, visiting College of Saint Mary (Neb.) (0-2-0 overall record) at Soccer Field in Omaha, Neb. The match is set for 3 p.m.
Dakota State returns home Friday evening, hosting NCAA Division II Southwest Minnesota State (0-1-0 overall record). Kick-off from Dan Beacom Track & Field is set for 7 p.m. It will be an exhibition match for the Mustangs.

*Dakota State is one of the four teams seeking their first win of the season this week. The Trojans are scheduled to play three matches this week, including two opponents from NCAA Division II and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
*The Trojans are scheduled to play their second home match of the season Friday evening, hosting NCAA Division II school for the first time in program history. Southwest Minnesota State scheduled an exhibition contest in Madison.
*Dakota State and Sioux Falls will play their first-ever series meeting on Sunday evening. It will be the first time that both teams face each other in women's soccer (both DSU and USF played each other in all other sports in the past).
*DSU will play their third NCAA Division II opponent in late October in the final regular-season contest at Black Hills State (S.D.).

LAST TIME OUT
Dakota State opened the 2026 season with a pair of non-conference setbacks, falling 2-0 to (RV) Hastings (Neb.) at home on Aug. 22 before dropping a 5-1 road decision at Mount Marty (S.D.) on Aug. 26.
The Trojans battled Hastings evenly in their season opener, with both teams recording 11 shots. DSU actually held a 6-5 edge in shots on goal, but the Broncos converted two scoring opportunities for the victory.
Dakota State then traveled to Yankton, where Mount Marty pulled away with four second-half goals in a 5-1 victory. The Lancers held a 20-3 advantage in shots and 14-3 edge in shots on goal.

Through two matches, Dakota State is 0-2 overall, with 14 total shots and nine shots on goal.
ABOUT SIOUX FALLS (S.D.)
NCAA Division II University of Sioux Falls enters Sunday's matchup with Dakota State at 0-1 overall after opening its 2026 season Thursday. USF competes in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and was picked 12th in the 2026 NSIC preseason coaches' poll. The Cougars are coming off a 6-10-2 record in 2025. Junior defender Mara Nelson and junior forward Addison Van Zee were named USF's NSIC Players to Watch.
Andy Janssen is in his first season as Sioux Falls' head coach. He joined the Cougars after nine seasons as associate head coach at NCAA Division I South Dakota State. During his time with the Jackrabbits, SDSU went 121-33-28 with two Summit League regular-season titles, five conference tournament championships and five NCAA Tournament appearances. Janssen previously spent seven seasons as an assistant at Bemidji State.
Last time out: Sioux Falls opened the season Thursday night with a 3-1 road loss to Black Hills State in Spearfish. The Yellow Jackets scored in the 31st minute and added two goals early in the second half for a 3-0 advantage. Van Zee broke through for USF with just eight seconds remaining, scoring the Cougars' first goal of the season.
Black Hills State held a 15-9 advantage in shots and 7-3 edge in shots on goal, although Sioux Falls generated a commanding 7-0 advantage in corner kicks. Van Zee led USF offensively with four shots and two shots on goal, while Maren Hayward added a shot on goal. Goalkeepers Morgan Jost and Hailey Kaufman each played 45 minutes and recorded two saves apiece.
ABOUT COLLEGE OF SAINT MARY (NEB.)
College of Saint Mary is an NAIA member located in Omaha, Neb., and competes in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. The Flames are 0-2 to begin the 2026 season after opening their schedule last week. Jamison Parkhill leads the College of Saint Mary women's soccer program.
College of Saint Mary opened its season Aug. 22 with a 5-0 home setback to MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.). The Flames kept the Pioneers off the scoreboard for nearly 27 minutes before MNU struck twice in a span of 56 seconds to take a 2-0 halftime advantage. MidAmerica Nazarene added three goals in the second half.
The Pioneers controlled the offensive numbers, outshooting CSM 23-0, including a 17-0 advantage in shots on goal, and held a 9-0 edge in corner kicks. Despite facing consistent pressure, the Flames' goalkeeping unit totaled 12 saves, including nine during the opening half. CSM then fell to Bellevue (Neb.) 8-0 on Aug. 26 in Bellevue, Neb.
The Flames took the first all-time series meeting with the Trojans 4-1 last season at Dan Beacom Track & Field.
ABOUT SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA STATE
Southwest Minnesota State is an NCAA Division II member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. The Mustangs were picked 13th in the 16-team 2026 NSIC preseason coaches' poll after finishing the 2025 season at 3-15 overall and 2-13 in conference play.
Clay Glasgow is in his fifth season as Southwest Minnesota State's head coach. He entered 2026 with a 14-47-10 record at SMSU, including a 13-38-7 mark in NSIC play. Glasgow was hired in February 2022 after spending eight seasons as the head women's soccer coach at Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.), where he compiled a 49-86-5 record. His final two DWU teams posted winning seasons and qualified for the GPAC Tournament.
The Mustangs opened their 2026 regular season Thursday, Aug. 27, with a 4-0 home loss to Ferris State (Mich.). SMSU trailed just 1-0 at halftime before the Bulldogs broke the match open with three goals in a span of less than five minutes during the second half.
Ferris State outshot Southwest Minnesota State 18-4, including a 9-0 advantage in shots on goal, and held a 10-1 edge in corner kicks. Backes led SMSU with two shots, while Karla Paredes-Nino and Jayna Benson each recorded one. Goalkeepers Madelyn Cory and Kennady Krebs combined for four saves.
SMSU travels to Upper Iowa on Sunday, Aug. 30, before visiting Dakota State on Friday, Sept. 4 in Madison. The Mustangs defeated the Trojans 6-0 in last season's opener.
