MADISON, S.D. — Dakota State (S.D.) senior
Kierra Miller was named the Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, announced Tuesday by the conference office. It is the first weekly conference honor of her career.
Miller, a native of Hemingford, Neb., paced the Trojans at the Dordt (Iowa) Sunflower Open on Sept. 12 in Sioux Center, Iowa.
She clocked a season-best time of 20 minutes, 13.31 seconds on the 5K course. Miller finished 32
nd overall in the field of 95 runners.
Miller shaved more than 16 seconds off her season-opening time. She began the 2026 season by recording a time of 20:29.8 at the Augustana (S.D.) Twilight on Sept. 4 in Sioux Falls, S.D.
The honor marks Dakota State's first Frontier Conference Women's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week award of the 2026 season.
Miller and the Trojans continue their season Sept. 25 when they return to Sioux Falls for the Augustana Invitational. The women's race is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Yankton Trail Park.
