MADISON, S.D. — Dakota State has finalized its 2026-27 women's basketball schedule with the addition of an exhibition contest against NCAA Division I South Dakota State.

The Trojans will travel to Brookings, S.D., on Dec. 9 to take on the Jackrabbits at First Bank & Trust Arena.

The addition gives Dakota State another challenging contest in a schedule that features opponents from the Frontier Conference, Cascade Collegiate Conference, Great Plains Athletic Conference and Heart of America Athletic Conference.

Dakota State, under the guidance of seven-time conference Coach of the Year David Moe, begins the season Oct. 24-25 at the Frontier-Cascade Crossover in Spokane, Wash. The Trojans open against Walla Walla (Wash.) on Oct. 24 before facing Oregon Tech on Oct. 25. DSU then travels to Des Moines, Iowa, for an Oct. 31 match up with Grand View (Iowa), where both teams faced each other in the first round of the NAIA national tournament last season at DSU Fieldhouse.

The Trojans continue their non-conference schedule, battling with three Great Plains Athletic Conference members that qualified for the national tournament last season.  DSU plays at the Cattle Classic in Seward, Neb., facing Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.), NAIA semifinalist last season, on Nov. 6 and host Concordia (Neb.) on Nov. 7. Dakota State then meets Dordt (Iowa), NAIA national runner-up, on Nov. 10 at the Sanford Sports Complex in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Dakota State opens its 22-game Frontier Conference schedule Nov. 21, hosting Bellevue (Neb.) at the DSU Fieldhouse. The Trojans also host Dickinson State (N.D.) on Dec. 3 and Bismarck State (N.D.) on Dec. 5 before traveling to Brookings for the exhibition with South Dakota State on Dec. 9.

Following the SDSU exhibition, Dakota State returns to Frontier action at Bellevue on Dec. 12. DSU closes the 2026 calendar year with road contests at Valley City State (N.D.) on Dec. 18 and Mayville State (N.D.) on Dec. 19 before returning home to face Providence (Mont.) on New Year's Eve.  DSU begins the New Year at home on Jan. 2 versus MSU-Northern.

The Trojans' conference schedule continues through Feb. 20, concluding the regular season at home against Rocky Mountain (Mont.). Dakota State is scheduled to play 11 home conference games at the DSU Fieldhouse during the regular season.

The 2027 Frontier Conference Women's Basketball Postseason Tournament is scheduled to begin Feb. 27 at the Butte Civic Center in Butte, Mont.  The conference tournament runs through Monday, March 1, with the championship game.

The NAIA Women's Basketball National Tournament Opening Round begins March 12 at campus sites, with the NAIA National Championship final site beginning March 18 at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Dakota State is coming off a historic 2025-26 campaign in which the Trojans posted a school-record 30 victories, won the Frontier Conference regular-season championship and advanced to the NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship semifinals.
