Connor Raney begins his first season as a graduate assistant baseball coach at Dakota State University, transitioning to the coaching staff after a highly decorated playing career as a Trojan. A Pflugerville, Texas, native, Raney’s primary responsibilities include coordinating outfield development and play, along with assisting with various program operations.
Raney joined the Dakota State coaching staff following a standout playing career in which he established himself as one of the top outfielders in program history. A team captain and First Team All-Conference selection, Raney left his mark on the Trojan record book in several individual season and career categories, particularly in stolen bases and runs scored.
During his senior season, Raney ranked No. 24 in the nation with 33 stolen bases, establishing a new Dakota State single-season record. He also set a school record with 64 runs scored in a season. His combination of athleticism, defensive ability, base running, and leadership helped make him a key contributor during his time in the Trojan program.
Prior to joining the Dakota State coaching staff, Raney gained additional coaching experience as a head baseball coach in the Sioux Falls Post 15 organization.
Raney earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business finance and management from Dakota State. He is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Sports Leadership at Dakota State University.
