Hakeem Yatim is from Jakarta, Indonesia and is a graduate assistant baseball coach at Dakota State University. His primary duties consist of coordinating outfield development and play, assisting with hitting, serving as the head coach for developmental games, and various program operations.
Yatim moved from being a starting switch-hitting position player after his career at Dakota State to joining the coaching staff as a graduate assistant baseball coach. During his career as a Trojan, Yatim was selected to the North Star Athletic Association's Champions of Character recipient and received the conference's Scholar-Athlete award.
In 2018 and 2019, Yatim was the starting shortstop for the Indonesian national team where he represented his country in the 2018 East Asian Baseball Cup and the 2019 Southeast Asian Games. Yatim spent the summer of 2023 in Indonesia helping coach and train the Indonesian national team for international competition.
Yatim graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and a minor in Computer Science. He is now pursuing a Master of Science in Analytics.
