Mark Ferber began his duties in June 2020 as the tight ends coach.  He currently works for the Department of Research and Development on the DSU campus.

Prior coming to Dakota State, Ferber spent the last 20 years on active duty for the South Dakota Army National Guard, retiring this summer after 29 total years of service.  He was deployed twice during his military career (Iraq in 2004) and (Afghanistan in 2009).

Ferber was heavily involved in coaching youth programs in Madison such as football, baseball and softball throughout the years.  He graduated with an associate's degree in criminal justice from Western Dakota Vo-Tech in 1995. 

Ferber was born in Michigan and raised in Madison.  He is married to his wife Tracy and together they have a son Dawson and daughter Caymen.
