Gerlach aided his teammates in his final season with the Mitchell Kernels, placing 8th at the 2026 SDHSAA State Track Meet in the 4x800M relay. Gerlach also ran a personal best at the Roy Griak Invitational with a time of 17:59.2 in the 5000M.
