Lady T's cruise past Lions 91-44

MADISON, S.D. – Every Dakota State (S.D.) Lady T's basketball players scored in the game Tuesday evening, cruising past Trinity Bible (N.D.) 91-44 in a non-conference game at DSU Fieldhouse.  The Lady T's shot a season-high 55.7 percent from the field.

Dakota State moved back to .500 with a 3-3 overall record and remained undefeated at DSU Fieldhouse with a 3-0 record this season.  Trinity Bible fell to 2-1 overall record.

DSU never trailed in the game as they opened up with a 5-0 lead with 8 minutes, 27 seconds on the clock in the first quarter.  Kennedy Wagner started the scoring with a 3-pointer, followed by a basket by Lindsey Vogl.

Cassie Jones hit a field goal wot give Lady T's its first double-digit lead of the game at 15-4 with 5:37 left in the first period.  The Lady T's led 30-8 after the first quarter, thanks to 52 percent shooting from the field (13-of-25).  The Lions were held to 15.8 field goal percentage (3-of-19).

Dakota State outscored Trinity Bible 20-5 in the second quarter to stretch their lead to 50-13.  The Lady T's shot a sizzling 51.2 percent from the field in the first half (21-of-41 field goals) while holding the Lions to 15.2 percent (5-of-33 field goals).

DSU kicked off the third quarter with an 11-0 run to widen their lead to 61-13 with 6:05 on the clock.  The Lady T's led 72-28 by the end of the third period.

The Lady T's shot a blazing 62.1 percent from the field in the second-half (18-of-29 field goals) compared to the Lions 34.3 percent (12-of-35 field goals).

Raven Patton produced a double-double of 12 points and grabbed 12 rebounds off the bench for Dakota State.  Shelby Vogel added 11 points.  Britley Plautz scored 10 points and recorded three blocked shots.  Jones tallied nine points.  Vogl added eight points.

Plautz and Alexis Evans each earned six rebounds for DSU.  Jamie Tebben and Kennedy Wagner each had five rebounds.  Tebben registered six blocked shots in the game.  Patton and Evans each recorded two blocks.

Alison Scheetz dished out five assists for the Lady T's.  Jones added four assists.  Vogl stole the ball four times.  Jones and Cassie Hand each had three steals.

Emma Logan scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Trinity Bible.  She stole the ball six times.  Bryn Crockett added 13 points.  Shaylyn Steinheuser had eight points and seven rebounds. 

DSU was 39-of-70 overall from the field compared to TBC 17-of-68 field goals (25 percent).  The Lady T's were 7-of-17 from the 3-pont line while the Lions were 4-of-19 3-pointers.  Dakota State was 6-of-12 free-throws.  Trinity Bible made 6-of-14 free-throws.

DSU pulled down a season-high 55 rebounds in the game.  TBC had 34 rebounds.  The Lady T's also had season-highs in blocked shots with 15, assists with 24 and steals with 18.

Dakota State outscored Trinity Bible 62-20 inside the paint, 14-2 in fast-break chances and 62-2 in bench points.

The Lady T's look to extend their winning streak on Saturday, visiting Midland (Neb.) in a non-conference game.  Tip-off is slated for 4 p.m. at the Events Center in Fremont, Neb.
