VALLEY CITY, S.D. – Dakota State (S.D.) made their first North Star Athletic Association baseball postseason tournament appearance since 2018 at Charlie Brown Stadium Friday, hosted by Valley City State (N.D.).  The sixth-seeded Trojans produced four-run offense production in the top third inning before top-seeded Bellevue (Neb.) scored nine unanswered runs combined from the fourth through the sixth innings, securing a 9-4 opening round victory.

The Trojans will face an elimination game Saturday morning at 11 a.m. against fifth-seeded Dickinson State (N.D.), who lost to second-seed Mayville State (N.D.) 4-2 in the Friday's 2:30 p.m. opening round game.

Bellevue, receiving votes in the latest NAIA Baseball Coaches' Top 25 national poll, awaits the loser of Friday's 5:30 p.m. contest between third-seeded Valley City State and fourth-seeded Waldorf (Iowa).
