MADISON, S.D. – Sophomore guard Bria Wasmund of Dakota State (S.D.) was selected by the North Star Athletic Association, kicking off the 2025 calendar year as the Women's Basketball Offense Player-of-the-Week.  The tenth edition of the weekly honors were announced Monday afternoon by the conference office.

It was the second time this season that Wasmund received the weekly honor by the conference office.  She was named to the league's Defense Player-of-the-Week on Dec. 23.

Wasmund scored a career-high 23 points in helping No. 6 ranked Dakota State to a 67-59 home victory over Bellevue (Neb.) on Jan. 4.  The Trojans became the lone team to stay undefeated in the conference play with a 3-0 record.

She was 8-of-14 from the field, including 4-of-7 from the 3-point line, and hit 3-of-4 free throws for the Trojans.  She also dished out three assists in the game.

Wasmund averages 15.3 points per game during the conference season for DSU.  She also averages 4.3 assists per game, which tied for fourth best assists per game during conference contests in the NSAA.

Bria is a native of Sibley, Iowa, and majors in exercise science at Dakota State University.

Dakota State (11-3 overall record) carries their nine-game winning streak this week as they continue their North Star conference action.  The Trojans visit Dickinson State (N.D.) Friday evening at Scott Gymnasium in Dickinson, N.D., with a 6:30 p.m. (Central Time)/5:30 p.m. (Mountain Time) tip-off.

DSU travels to No. 24 ranked Jamestown (N.D.) Saturday afternoon for the North Star contest at Newman Arena.  The game is set for 3 p.m. in Jamestown, N.D.
