MADISON, S.D. – (RV) Dakota State (S.D.) dominated Valley City State (N.D.) in three straight sets in the Frontier Conference women's volleyball match at the DSU Fieldhouse Wednesday evening. The Trojans won by scores of 25-16, 25-17, and 25-15, improving to 10-5 overall and 6-4 in Frontier Conference play. The Vikings slipped to 6-9 and 4-6 Frontier.
Dakota State, who extended their consecutive appearance in the NAIA Women's Volleyball Coaches' Top 25 national poll for the 12
th straight time (listed in the receiving votes section), posted their fifth straight Frontier Conference home sweeps in three straight set, remaining undefeated at DSU Fieldhouse during league play.
It was the 15
th time in the last 16 seasons that the Trojans reached double digits victories.
First Set Highlights
Dakota State came out firing in the opening frame, using a balanced attack to quickly establish momentum. Setter
Maddi Langerock orchestrated the offense, dishing out 36 set assists on the night. Middle hitter
Lauryn Kloth went 11-for-14 in kills without an error in the match's first stretch.

The Trojans' efficiency stood out, hitting .379 as a team in the opener compared to just .033 by Valley City State. DSU's defense, led by libero
Kate VanRooyan's 16 digs, prevented the Vikings from finding rhythm.
Second Set Highlights
DSU hit .341 in the second frame, tallying 20 kills to Valley City's 10.
VCSU attempted to stay in the set behind the efforts of Danielle Hagler (9 kills, .400 hitting) and Morgan Freije (7 kills), but unforced errors proved costly. DSU capitalized on long scoring runs, forcing two Viking timeouts, and cruised to a 25-17 win.

Service pressure from
Sydney Wathen and
Daynica Witzel kept Valley City out of system, while Kloth and
Halle Bruflat continued their dominance at the net. Kloth finished with an eye-popping .786 hitting percentage (11 kills, no errors), while Bruflat and Tuttle added 11 kills each. Maras chipped in six, giving DSU four attackers with at least six kills.
Defensively, the Trojans tallied 49 digs and eight block assists, slowing down any Viking comeback attempts. Valley City hit just .103 in the third set, never threatening as DSU stormed to a 25-15 decision.

- Team Hitting: DSU hit .333 for the match (49 kills, 11 errors, 114 swings) versus Valley City's .101 (31-20-109).
- Setting: Langerock led all players with 36 assists for DSU. Gracie Schumacher recorded 13 set assists, while Madden Bogenreif added 10 assists for the Vikings.
- Defense: K. VanRooyan's 16 digs anchored a back row that tallied 49 total for Dakota State. Witzel added nine digs. JayCee Ritcher led VCSU with 16 digs.
