Fourteen Trojans collect Frontier Conference Football All-Conference awards

5 athletes named First Team, 5 athletes earned Second Team, 4 athletes collected Honorable Mention

MADISON, S.D. – The Frontier Conference announced their 2025 East Division teams and individuals' awards Thursday.  The awards recipients are selected by the seven head coaches in the East Division, who are not permitted to vote for their own players.

Five Dakota State (S.D.) athletes were listed on the First Team All-Conference, while five more athletes were listed on the Second Team All-Conference.  Four DSU athletes earned Frontier Conference All-Conference Honorable Mention accolades.

Dakota State finished their impressive 2025 season with an overall record of 8-2 and 5-1 record in the Frontier East Division.  It was the first time since the 2017 season where the Trojans collected eight wins during the season.  DSU also finished their 2025 regular season with a No. 24 national ranking in the final NAIA Football Coaches' Top 25 national poll.

Preston Iverson, a junior from Hot Springs, S.D., was named to First Team All-Conference in the running back position for DSU.  He ranks second in both rushing yards per game (64.6 rushing yards per game) rushing touchdowns with six.  Iverson also caught 23 passes for 356 yards (35.6 receiving yards per game) and recorded three touchdown catches.

He racked up a total of 1,002 all purpose yards (rushing plus receiving yards) and averaged 100.2 all-purpose yards per game for Dakota State.

Tyler Kjetland, a senior from Emery, S.D., and Uziel Ruiz, a junior from Loveland, Colo., were selected to Frontier Conference East Division offensive lineman position for the Trojans.  They were integral members of the Trojan offensive line that racked up 365.6 offensive yards per game this season.  The Trojans averaged 242.4 passing yards per game and 123.2 rushing yards per game.

Jordan Cooper, a sophomore from Sioux Falls, S.D., was named to Frontier Conference East Division First Team All-Conference at the linebacker position.  He led the Trojans with eight quarterback sacks, which tied the East Division for most quarterback sacks.  He produced 59 yards loss from the sacks.

Cooper was also fifth in the Trojan football single season record book for most quarterback sacks.  He also forced fumble four times and recovered two fumbles this season.  He registered 12.5 tackles-for-loss of 67 yards.  Cooper finished the season with 38 tackles (18 solo, 20 assist).

Deveon Moses, a senior from Houston, Texas, was selected to Frontier East Division All-Conference at the defensive back position.  He caught four interceptions and returned them for 42 total yards.  He racked up 11 interceptions during his career at DSU with 102 return yards.

Moses registered 13 break-up passes this season for Dakota State.

Tray Hettick, a junior quarterback from Selby, S.D., earned the Frontier East Division Second Team All-Conference at quarterback position for DSU.  He led the Frontier East Division with 256.6 passing yars per game and ranked second in the East with 20 passing touchdowns. 

Hettick finished the 2025 season with completing 147 passes for 256 attempts (57.4 percent) for 2,053 yards.  He had a career-high 80-yard pass this season for the Trojans.

Melek Ford, a sophomore from Tampa, Fla., was named to East Division Second Team All-Conference at wide receiver position.  He is fourth in the Frontier East Division with 65.7 receiving yards per game for the Trojans. 

Ford led Dakota State with 657 receiving yards this season.  He averaged 14.3 yards per reception and caught six touchdown passes.

Caleb Dwyer, a senior from Sioux Falls, S.D., and Brooks Jansen, a senior from Emery, S.D., were both selected to Frontier East Division Second Team All-Conference at the defensive lineman position. 

Dwyer tallied 39 tackles (10 solo, 29 assist), 3.5 quarterback sacks for 37 yards loss, and 7.0 tackles-for-loss of 57 yards.  He also had a fumble recovery, a break-up ass, and a block kick.  He finished his career with 146 tackles and 17.0 quarterback sacks of 123 yards loss, and 28.5 tackles-for-loss of 176 yards.

Jansen collected 55 tackles (19 solo, 36 assist) this season, which is second most on the team for the Trojans.  He added three quarterback sacks and 6.0 tackles-for-loss of 24 yards loss.  Jansen had a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.  He finished his career with 128 tackles and eight quarterback sacks at Dakota State.

Taron Serr, a senior from Burke, S.D., was named to Frontier East Division Second Team All-Conference as a linebacker position.  He led the team with 68 tackles and averaged 6.8 tackles per game (5th best in the East Division).

Serr ended his career with 159 tackles and 12.0 tackles-for-loss of 34 yards.  He also had four break-up passes this season for the Trojans.

Maddox Kihne, a junior wide receiver from Sioux Falls, S.D., earned Honorable Mention All-Conference for DSU.  He caught 31 passes for 481 yards (48.1 receiving yards per game).  He had five touchdown passes and had a season-long 80-yard pass.

Kacey Cauley, a senior defensive end from Arlington, Texas, was named to Honorable Mention All-Conference.  He finished the season with 21 tackles.  He also helped with the Trojans' offense as he had four rushing touchdowns and two passing touchdowns.

Adrian Villanueva, a freshman kicker from Plant City, Fla., also earned Honorable Mention team for Dakota State.  He finished the season with eight field goals made, including a season-long field goal of 46 yards.  He added 34 PAT extra point kicks, racking up a total of 58 points (led team).

Tamareon 'Frosty' Foster, a sophomore from Orlando, Fla., earned the Honorable Mention All-Conference at the defensive back position.  He tallied 52 tackles, 25 solo and 25 assist tackles) (5.2 tackles per game).  He caught two interceptions for 81 total return yards.
