Deveon Moses received the All-America status for the second consecutive year, the 2025 AFCA NAIA Coaches' All-America teams were announced Thursday by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and the NAIA.
The AFCA has selected an All-America team since 1945 and is the only team chosen exclusively by NAIA football coaches.
The AFCA's NAIA All-America selection committee is made up of two head coaches from each of the AFCA's seven districts, one of whom serves as a district chairman, along with another head coach who serves as the chairman of the selection committee.
Moses, a 6-footer and 180 lbs. from Houston, Texas, was named on the NAIA All-America Third Team list. He was the NAIA All-America First Team last season after leading the Trojans with seven interceptions, the second most single-season interceptions in the school record book.
Moses caught four interceptions this season for Dakota State, accumulating 11 career interceptions. He returned four interceptions for 42 total yards and earned 13 pass-break up.
Moses was one of the integral members of the Trojans' defense squad that limited their opponents to 16.5 points per game, which is the best defense scoring in the Frontier East division as of Thursday. The Trojans' scoring defense ranks 10
th best in the NAIA.
DSU's defense also leads the Frontier East with 249.0 total yards, 155.8 passing yards, and 93.2 rushing yards allowed per game. The Trojans ranked third in the NAIA in total yards allowed, fourth in passing yards allowed, and seventh in rushing yards allowed.
The Trojans' defense also tied the Frontier East Division with 14 interceptions caught, recovered eight fumbles, and two defensive touchdowns.
Dakota State produced a new team single game school record of zero (0) passing yards allowed at Mayville State (N.D.) on Nov. 1, breaking the previous team single game record of four (4) passing yards versus Sioux Falls (S.D.) in 1974. The lone completion of that game by MSU's quarterback was the interception by Moses.
Deveon is a biology major at Dakota State University.
Dakota State finished their 2025 season with an impressive 8-2 overall record, the most wins since the 2017 squad with an 8-3 overall record. The Trojans finished second in the Frontier East Division with 5-1 record, ending their season with five consecutive wins in the East Division contests. DSU also ranked No. 24 in the final NAIA Football Coaches' Top 25 national poll.
