Mohamed Muse of Dakota State (S.D.) was tabbed as the 2025-26 Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Men's Indoor Track Athlete-of-the-Week, the second edition of the weekly indoor track & field honors were announced Tuesday by the conference office. He became the first Trojan to be named Athlete-of-the-Week in the new conference, Frontier Conference,
Muse added another event to his national qualifying list for Dakota State after competing at the Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) Snow Tiger Invitational on Dec. 13 in Mitchell. He won two titles in the meet for the Trojans.
Muse was one of the anchors on the Trojan 4 x 800-meter relay (with
Franklin Johns,
Evan Armstrong, and
Solomon Carter) that won the title in 7 minutes, 53.86 seconds. That time was converted to 7 minutes, 47.18 seconds on the 200-meters course, which is the NAIA 'B' provisional qualifying time. The Trojans currently lead the NAIA in 4 x 800-meter relay as of Tuesday.
The 4 x 800-meter relay is the fourth fastest in the DSU men's indoor track & field school history.
Muse also captured the 400-meter dash title in 50.71 seconds.
Muse had qualified for the 600-meter run after clocking the NAIA 'B' provisional qualifying time of 1:20.15 at the South Dakota State Holiday Open on Dec. 5. The time is currently fifth fastest in the NAIA as of Tuesday.
Mohamed, a native of Sioux Falls, S.D., is a sophomore cyber operations major at Dakota State University.
Dakota State enters their Christmas break and won't return to action on Jan. 10 as they compete in the Mount Marty (S.D.) Opener in Yankton.
